Midland Specialty Pipe provides personnel to train either contractors or your personnel at no charge. The product is self sufficient, light weight, and not very sensitive to installation techniques and on going maintenance because of the inherent toughness with thermoplastics. The primary goal of our technicians is to train installers on proper coupling techniques, proper techniques for pulling the pipe off the spools and techniques for rapid installation. Training occurs both in the shop and in the field with actual installations. It should be noted that individual crews are trained and not companies. So if there are four crews, Midland Specialty Pipe must train each crew. If you would like to use contractors currently certified by Polyflow, Inc, we will be happy to provide you with the appropriate names and contact numbers.
Equipment:

The only special equipment for installation is a coupling machine and swaging dies. They can be rented for $100 per day and the machines are based in Midland, TX. The machines are inexpensive and can be purchased for the following price:

SE0004 Splice and termination coupling machine                                           $7,700.00
Swaging dies (Price per size)                                                                                $1,495.00
Coupling Shoe for Splice Couplings (Price per size)                                        $ 495.00

Because the spools are lightweight and disposable, no special equipment is necessary for installation. (A spool of 1,000ft of 4.5” on a spool weighs 2,500lbs). Please see the attached pictures for examples of un-spooling with existing contractor equipment. Below are some pictures detailing the ease of installation.
